Post What's great about where you are?

Hi,

I am pretty new to the site. My partner and i and our 2 children (girl15, boy2) are in the very early stages of looking in to emigrating. We are looking to find out about the different areas. So i was wondering if anyone could share any info they may have.

We are looking for somewhere that is family friendly, My daughter is very much into her drama and musical theatre and will be looking to persue these both in school and out of it. My little boy is obviosly only 2 and mainly into saying NO! However i am hoping that oz will be able to offer have a more outdoor lifestyle than the uk and am looking for him to have lots of sporting oppertunitis. I just hope he shares my plans.

We would like to be by the sea, but also not to far away from the main city. We are looking for greenery and park land as well as the beach lifestyle.

Would love to here from you, tell me what's great and what's not so great about where you are.

Many Thanks

Adam

I'm in Leeming, for us personally it's a great location, we're a short (10 min) train ride from the heart of the city - beautiful scenery on the way into the city, we're 20 mins from Freo and the beaches, 25 mins drive to work and the hills. It's an older suburb with just about everything we need within a 10 min walk or drive. I love that fact that my area is made up with different generations of people, we have people our age, with kids, some younger, some with teenagers (the teenagers are a delight - polite and give lots of time to the younger kids playing footy) grandparents and people who have lived here since the first house was built, There's a big street party at xmas which everyone goes too and it really does have a great community feel. I love where I live!
