Port Kennedy

We have been looking at housing in the area of Port Kennedy. Does anyone know whether or not this is a good area to live?

YES !
Although Port Kennedy stretches from beachside all the way across to the Mandurah Rd.
The further from the beach some of the areas are not quite as good.
It also stretches south towards Secret Harbour. The area next to the Golf Course is nice, soon to be more land released there too around the golf course and beachside.

My friend lives there and likes it but says she hadn't realised there were quite so many brits down that way.

You have to chose your spot carefully. Some areas are very 'hoonish', others aren't so bad but it is FULL of brits everywhere !!

I think there are alot of brits in perth, but some area's have more than others - this can be a plus or a minus depending what you're after.

We moved to Port Kennedy last week - just bought in St Michael Estate (previously rented in WArnbro the suburb next to Port Kennedy) it`s a nice wee area, I have Aussie neighbours one side and Poms on the other.

We are also in St Michel, we bought in July last year and we are very happy here. The primary school is excellent, most of our neighbours in the street are Australian and are so friendly and welcoming!

Thank you all for your replies. I do not post on here very much but both myself and partner have found this site to be very informative!

Still trying to make the decision of whether or not to head north or south of Perth. We have friends and family on both sides but like with most people money plays a part of where you move to. We do not want a big mortgage if any, (wishful thinking). We would just like to be in a friendly and welcoming community, with a good school for when our son eventually attends.
