Anyone know Albany?

Albany
Hi new to the site. We are moving to Albany, Great Southern, hopefuly later this year. Jan- Nurse, Howard - Airbus, Vickie 14, Harry 8, both kids hoping to chat to other kids around their age groups in Albany or surrounding area before they move. Does anyone know the area at all, good areas to live with reasonably priced housing. Schooling and generally what is the feeling about the area. Jans got a job as a nurse and waiting for 457 visa to be applied for by health authority. Howard looking for work via job internet sites. Any advice on what skills there are a shortage of in this area. We are hoping for some general info from real people as checked out the websites already and although the place looks fab we still have lots of questions to ask.

Looking forward to some feedback

Jan & Howard

Thanks for your reply, we welcome any info. Yes it seems like a nice place from the info we have gained so far. We are not city types but hope its not too quiet!!! It seems to be community orientated and we like that idea.

Thanks again

Have absolutely no idea what its like to live in Albany but every time we go to Aus we make sure we make a trip down there for at least a long weekend.
We love it, its got everything you will need and yet is lovely and quiet plus a beautiful place to visit.
Not sure if this helps but another oppinion wont hurt.

Hi Jan and Howard

You are going to love Albany. Its is such a pretty palce, nice large town and seems to have a great community spirit. It is much cooler than Perth and the Ocean is so much colder.
It has everything that you could want. When I retire, thats where I want to live, its just such a great place
