I live in Leeming sor - it's local council is the city of Melville. It's an older more established area - not too many newly built houses or McMansion (as the paper calls them). We're on the new train line - and from Murdoch station it takes 10 mins into the city (drops you right in the centre of the shops ladies!!). It's about 14k (I think), 15 mins if you drive - I have to say it's a scenic route by car or train all the way into the city. Cost of a taxi back from the city was $25 (last year), and we're 20 mins from Freo and beaches.

I've seen it say that average house prices are about $550 but looking through the paper I think it may be more like $560. Surrounding suburbs are Bull Creek, Murdoch, and Willeton. Within 5 - 10 mins drive we have a cinema, 2 coles, 2 woolies, recreation centre a number of parks etc., Local primary schools are Banksia, Leeming primary and West Leeming and the local high school - Leeming Senior High has a good reputations.

Crime in the area seems pretty low (touch wood).
