Any advice on SW coast?

Coming over this August to check out South of Perth. We are hoping to relocate Aug 09, but are unsure where exactly to settle. Its between this area and Melbourne area.
Wanted advice on towns such as Busselton, Bunbury, Albany and Esperance, and how should we go about doing a rekkie?

Heard lots of good things about Bunbury - very self sufficient sort of place and doesn't rely on having to be near Perth. Bussleton is beautiful and quiet - not sure I could live there but a great place to visit.

Hello Sara

We moved to Bunbury in October and we absolutely love it down here it has everything you need and without all the traffic and hassle of living in a big city. We orignally lived in Cardiff, South Wales and its great to be able to drive to work in 15 mins and if we want to take an extra 5 mins we take the scenic route along Ocean Drive.

We live in a suburb called Dalyellup which has its own beach which is huge and always quiet.

Kevin & Dawn also live here with their two young sons so feel free to pm any of us and we'll give you all the details.

Busselton is a hell of a lot smaller than Bunbury but very pretty and gets tourists in the summer months.

Albany is further south again and Esperance is about an 11 hour drive from Perth along very very quiet roads. Check out Esperance as they had a lead leak from the local docks, its all cleared up now but they are still having issues with high level of lead in the air. Just remember if you go that far south you'll have a long journey when picking up friends/family from Perth airport.

Bunbury is two hours from Perth and it took us 2 and a half hours to get to the airport when we picked up my mum on Saturday. She loves it here already and says she thinks we are daft if we come back to the UK and leave this lifestyle behind.

As for coming down to have a look I'd book a holiday home south of Bunbury and then you can be based between all of the towns. Margaret River is beautiful and an hour and a half from Bunbury, hour from Busselton and you could then drive down for an overnight visit to Albany and Esperance.

Its beautiful down here but never been to Oz before so can't compare to Melbourne.

you're wardrobe sounds just like mine!!! Sometimes I look at my dresses and long to dress up and then I think nah what's the point. I used to moan in the UK at having to dress up to go out and now that I don't have to anymore I moan cos I want to - can't win eh!!!

Its fab being able to wear just shorts, vest and flip flops....every evening and on weekends - life is good!
