The main argument for it, seems to be lighter evenings after work, longer time to enjoy downtime (barbies etc) and its still light at 6.30 so no issue with kids going to school etc. Main argument against seems to be time difference between states, but that kinda falls down when you consider 4 of the 6 alter their clocks anyhow!

Daylight saving..........it's the best thing since sliced bread as far as i am concerned. My curtains haven't faded........ not yet anyway

We don't have any cows on our land so we don't have anyone confused over milking time?

We still get up at 1/4 to 6 in the morning when the kookaburras go off............ daylight saving doesn't seem to have affected their habits.

I just get more time to spend in the garden (bush) now cos it's lighter longer. I'm hoping they keep it going forever.............. doubt they will though because apparently too many people are dead set against it which as far as i am concerned is a great pity......... we love it.

WA has always been different to the other states. They never wanted daylight savings because our major trading partners ie Malaysia/Indonesia/China/Hong Kong/Thailand Singapore etc were always on the same time zone.
The time difference between the Eastern States and WA was 2 hours and in summer 3 hours say between perth and Sydney. Now we always remain at 2 hours.
Really , in peak summer it is actually hotter for longer now, as we have turned back the clocks 1 hour, so what we save in electicity we now spend on air conditioning.
Also the kids have not addapted, I know my kids dont want to go to bed at 9PM because the sun is still shining.
From an economic point of view, we are better off without daylight savings.

Nice reply Sunny, and it does all make a lot more sense when put in that perspective.
