dog walking in perth

Hi all, hope everyone is fine. Just sold up here with the intention of moving in January and was wondering about my wee 4 legged pal. I intend to land permanently in the Joondalup area, and was wondering if it's ok to take the dog for a walk around the golf courses over there, specifically currambine or carramar, or if you'll get maxfli's driven at you on sight. Just that if you want a half decent walk but can't be bothered driving to the beach, is it worthwhile buying a hoose somewhere local to a course for the poochies exercise ?
cheers,
dek

I you are going to stay in the Joondalup area, the doggy beach will only be a short drive for you. There are plenty parks in that area without going near a golf course ....poor pooch wouldn't want to be dragged round 18 holes

Plenty of wide open spaces in and around Joondalup, Currumbine, Carramar areas....... loads of parks dotted here and there.

Plenty of people walking the dog everywhere you look. Council rules state you must pick up your dog poo............. they provide little plastic bags for same.

Lot of roos on the golf courses................. dogs and roos together could cause a problem? Not too sure about the etiquette either............ to be honest we don't see too many dogs on the golf course............. see plenty on leases being walked along the footpath from Burns Beach to Iluka and back.

Joonalup is having a tightening of its dog control orders. It is very anti (every Oz loves a pet is not true!) You will have to research your dog walk areas both beaches and parks carefully... and be aware they must be registered (max 2 per household) Reagards Graham
