Not having mains water is another thing I don't miss, relying on rainfall to fill the tanks, no deep sewerage either. It can be very lonely, no-one ever just pops in for a cuppa. I found it not very peaceful either, noise semms to travel more.

Each to their own............. I wouldn't swap it for all the tea in China. We are as happy as Larry on our little rural block........... although I must admit we were somewhat taken aback when our three lads christened it 'El Dumpo'......... see what preventing us from giving them a good whack round the ear hole does?
I did buy it with the intention of bringing in the bulldozer and knocking the house down to rebuild the same 'mansion' we had before on Golf Links Drive.......... all our friends have talked me out of that though................ they thought I was mad?
Granted............ bush fires are a major problem................ well not so much bush fires per se .............. it's the bastards who deliberately light them for fun!!!!!
Our fire break gets done in a couple of weeks; we had a bobcat on site this morning clearing the bush where we will bung up a new garage/workshop. I've been burning off the last few weeks......... our gutters have been cleaned out so we are well prepared for the bush fire season.
