Bunbury? What's it like?

Anyone moved to Bunbury? What's it like? Where is the best place to live? North of Bunbury in Australind and Eaton or South of Bunbury?

Would love to hear anyone's views.

Alex

We're off to Bunbury in 5 weeks.

Done lots of research,it seems lots of brits go to Australind and its on an inlet so if you want to be within walking distance I think somewhere else is better.

We have been told by real estate that from Dalyellup it is 5-10 mins to the CBD ,so even though it looks quite a way down its not really and there are shops nearby or there can't quite remember what was said.

Think it also depends on what you want in a home on where you are. There's been and still is lots of building work going on all over .

Keep in touch and I'll let you know our first impressions as soon as possible

Thanks - I would really appreciate that.
Good luck with the move - I bet you're up to your neck with organising stuff! How are you feeling about the big move? Do you have any relatives out there? Have you been before? We have relatives in Rockingham and have visited them but never got to visit Bunbury.

hi there,

Went to Bunbury when we did our rekkie. It seems reasonable size town with lots of individual shops. Most people seem to live on the outskirts. I felt it was more of a country town near the sea if that makes a sense. The housing seemed nice but I didnt feel right there. However I loved Bussleton which is thirty minutes south of Bunbury. We stayed there a few days and we will definately go back.
Regards
Debbie

I think we would need to be nearer a bigger place for jobs and things. That's the problem. I'd love to be in a small town in the country but then the chances of finding jobs are so much smaller.

hi there again.
Bunbury is a big place i think it is the second biggest city in W.A. Have a look on the local paper website. It covers jobs and housing. The site is bunbury.yourguide.com.au

Hi there, We have had our visas a year. We have been having trouble selling our house and we are on our fourth buyer due to chains breaking. Hoping to exchange today or tomorrow. We then will be off a couple of weeks later. Regards Debbie

Hi Debbie
Did your exchange happen today? I hope so - it must be all you need on top of everything else!

Do you have jobs lined up or is your profession in demand? Keep in touch and let us know how you get on. It's great to hear from people that are ahead in the process.

Take care

Alex

Not been to Bunbury yet but have heard good things about it. It's about 180km from Perth and the drive takes about 2hr 30 mins
