Hi Judith, I am glad you liked Joondalup. Karen told me you had come for a visit and said you were very nice so we look forward to your return. Enjoy your return to nice cool weather. We are off to Bali in the morning so that will be even hotter than Perth so I think I must be mad !!! Oh well !!
Take care and have a great year,
cheers Deb

Have a fab holiday. It was minus 2 here yesterday. A bit mider today but wet...yuck.

Just got to work out where to start with the whole moving process now. I.E do I apply for job first then apply to the WANA for registration. It is all very daunting but I will get there.

I have arrived home and gone straight onto nights so still haven't really adjusted my body clock. Tonight will be the turning point I hope. I just hope I can sleep. My son has been getting up around 4am and struggling to stay awake beyond 7pm. He's back to school tomorrow so in for a shock.

Anyway, have a great time in Bali, i'm envious.

Cheers Judith

If your visa application is in and you've had your skills assessed by the ANMC - you can ask the ANMC to pass on your file to the NBWA - then you just fill in the application and pay the money.

Thinking of coming to perth

Hi There,

I am a student midwife from Edinburgh, due to graduate next year. Im hoping to come across to Australia to work when I graduate, ideally Perth. I just wondered if anyone knew how easy it is to find work there if you are a newly-qualified midwife?? Do you need to have some experience first? I am also a direct-entry midwife...will this count against me? Im bringing my partner with me, im assuming he will get a visa through me? We arent married (despite my big hints) but we do live together.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Many Thanks!!

xx

So if midwives don't suture...what happens at a home birth or birth centre? Are women transferred???

Try to contact King Edwards in perth (you should be able to goggle them) and ask about if they have graduate programmes for midwifery. I get confused about the visa's and don't know if your partner will be on your visa or if he applies for a defacto visa.

Midwives do suture at King Eddies and now at Joondalup which is great as I had been suturing for 15years in Scotland and have been very frustrated at not being able to here and teaching medical officers!

Midwifery In Perth

I am currently with an agency called GoMatilda and am in progress with visa application as

we speak. I agree that although you do pay more the agent takes care of a lot of things

for you which due to a busy life takes a hell of alot of pressure off than sorting everything

out to do with the visa myself.

I am looking for a job as a midwife in Perth but would like to move South of Perth. Does anyone know about a hospital called Woodside?

Helen
