Hi Jacky,

Not been upto Ocean Reef so not seen it for myself but people say it's lovely, near to beach and Joondalup with good facilities. I think it's a hot spot for UK Migrants so plenty of Brits if this is what you want.

Median house prices are about $702.500 (I think) don't know about house and land packages though.

Have a look at aussiemove.com

Hi,
Look at Connolly. Great suburb and around the golf course (www.joondalupresort.com).
The hidden gem in the northern corridor. Happy hunting!

Smile

Hi all, I am a Perth-ite and have lived here for past 22yrs most of it north of city but i do have some knowledge of south as well so feel free to message me.

Ocean Reef is a lovely well established suburb. In the upper price range with some very big homes and right on the coast.
It has older and newer areas and it includes Beaumaris whcih has newer houses.
It has a great selection of primary schools and one very big high school (has over 1000 kids) , Ocean Reef Senior High. It has a very good reputation and schooling results.
There is also a private primary and high school in the suburb called Prindiville Catholic college which has a good name.
Their feeder primary school over the road is called Saint Simon Peter Catholic Primary and is a great school too.
The Government Primarys are called ocean reef primary and Beaumaris Primary School. It is an older area but has great facilities and shops, very close to cinemas etc. next suburb up is iluka but it has no schools and no trees and is very stark with houses on top of each other and is the most expensive place.
Opposite is Connolly, very nice and equal to Ocean reef.
My biggest recommendation is not to go above joondalup as the schooling situation is terrible.
Lots and lots of building happening (so great for your work - you will never get a day off !!) but no infrastructure being built, so schools are full and not enough high schools.
Mindarie is lovely but has no high school unless you want to send your kids private then there is plenty of them.
Steer clear of Kinross - schools are not great, and dont touch heathridge or craigie or Beldon. cheap and cruddy.
if i could afford to move then my choices would be Woodvale or Carine. Any areas around Carine are great and Woodvale is lovely probably even better than ocean reef except another 10 mins more inland away from beach!!. But still only a 10 -14 min drive to beach.
If you are really going to have money from your exchange rate then go for anything around Hillarys/Sorrento.
I could go on for hours but best to search on real estate sites and look at quality of homes for sale then send me suburbs and i can let you know info. will be happy to.
good sites are domain.com.au and open2view.com.au.
good luck
cheers Deb

Try Julie Wheeler at the Commonwealth Bank, Joondalup. She will help you alot.
I know of some short term accommodation if you need it.

Good luck.

Regards
Dave
