Hi ADE350
Sorry yes see typo error meant to put $600,000....
Would also like to point out i have emails from realestate.com every day!!!.... selling me their wonderful homes......... I just want an honest, no messing around the bush, opinion..
By the way.... we used to live in Doha in 1999/2001.... love the place
love the dito too
We are initially starting off in Rockingham (south of Perth) as that's where OHs rellies live. In terms of where to settle, if all my research has been worth it(?!), I have narrowed our choices down to the Bull Creek/Willetton areas as the High Schools there are the best in Perth, apparently, and the primary schools are very good too for our two younger ones.
These areas are approx 15 mins from the city and 30 mins from the beach which suits us down to the ground. I just hope its as good as it sounds once we finally get there as I have spend almost 18months researching where best to settle ... and its STILL ongoing!
Good luck Karen xx

Thanks for that info Karen... had a look on realestate.com and liked what i saw!!!
It's a real mind blowing experience getting it all right schooling for me is def top priority...
You have probably said already... but i am a bit scatter brained at the moment... when do you intend to go?... we are looking at this time next year - doing a rekkie around Oct/Nov time
We're in Leeming which is near bull creek and Willerton and love it here. The schools have good reputations. They are established suburbs, leafy and green, my kids 12 & 7 walk to school. There's loads of shops nearby, cinema, recreation centres.
As Karen says - we're 15 mins drive to the City (and it's a lovely drive, you pass alongside the river with the sky line in sight - brilliant), when the rail link opens it'll take 11 mins! Not tried the bus yet - but one passes the bottom of our street - parking in the city can be expensive.
We're 20 mins from Freo (what a terrific place) and the beach,

We'll be neigbours (almost) Karen.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer me and doing the poll.
I have to say i am quite surprised by the results so far as i was under the impression that most expats went North to Joondalup etc..... or are you trying to tell me something!!!!
Still alot of ex pats head north Min, but south is nice too and worth a look. Don't know if you've been on www.aussiemove.com but it has a list of alot of the suburbs, schools and average house prices plus a little map so you can see where things are in relation to other suburbs.
Everyone will have different reasons for where they live - we came across leeming by chance and absolutley love it.
Ali
