i think i read somewhere on here that you do for anything that is not a PR.

We are going on a student visa and we have to pay for our children. We have 3 and it will be costing about £3000.00 per year per child. But you really do have to check with someone who knows. Try Alan Collett on this website.

Good Luck

Yvonne

Hi,

I think you do have to pay if you don't have PR (the school take a copy of your visa), if you know where you're going to be living try contacting a couple of the schools. by email to give you an idea of costs.

G'day

It depends where you are going. Education is a state government responsibility, so it is different in each state.

Here in WA, the children of 457 visa holders are not charged for primary or secondary schools, nor for some tafe courses.

Thanks

Thanks a lot you guys,we're hoping to go to Bunbury if not Mandurah its a bit of relief as we ahve been told so many different things we wanted to get a STNI 137 visa and have been told we could go on this one if we sent in application in October as Kev would have been qualified a year ( he's a town planner and its on the priorty skills list)but now we've also been told we can't and till he'd done 24 months after graduation and the option we had was a 457 thats why we needed to know about the schools.
