We also thinking of the Peel region or South west .
The department of schools website is totally confusing as unless you know what the schools are called you've got a long list to sort through
We have 2 boys 8 & 2 1/2 and one 18 year old who has decided to stay here (boyfriends eh)But she does say she'll have a cheap holiday destination

Try www.aussiemove.com it has a list of suburbs and will give you the schools in that area and websites - you can then contact the school direct. They don't have league tables for primary schools as far as I know

G'day Joanne

I guess the first thing is to know what you want from a school. Is it esential that the school has a Music program? if so what instrument(s)? Must the school have an aeronautics course? a fishing course? be a specialist languages school? are you looking for a Theatre Arts or Drama course? Should the school teach religion? if so, what religion? or denomination? Should the school prepare your child for the maximum range of possibilities or target only University entrance? Do you want a large school or a small school? Do you want a school that streams children? or amalgamates them? Is the cost of the school a factor?

Then I guess there's the issue of matching the school to the child. Has the child any special needs? are they Autistic, mobility impaired, academically gifted? sporting mad? academically challenged? creative and needing to find forms of expression? Is any special coaching or encouragement needed?

Yes it is hard to chose, but the starting point of that choice is YOU and your child(ren). Then find out if you hopes and expectations are appropriate. There is no point wanting your child to be a sporting superstar when they've got two left feet. There is no point wanting your child to be a lawyer if they don't enjoy reading. No point wanting them to be a physicist if they can' get the hang of mathematics.

Think about what's important and realistic, then you will know how to choose. Once you know what your choices are, tell us and we can say what schools might be best. But you must let us know first what you think comprises a suitable or good school.

Cheers
Bob in Bull Creek

Hi
I've just joined and read your message.

If you haven't already seen www.mymandurah.com.au try it.....

If you need accommodation before you buy... try www.mandurahparkvilla.worldstays.com

Central position close to schools transport and reasonable rent. I came here almost five yaers ago and boy is it difficult to understand everything.
All the best... you will love it..... Mandurah is the best

ciao
Mary
