Mosquitos in Mandurah?
Just how bad does it get, is it restricted to certain times of the year?
Thanks

Do you get bitten a lot? I'm like a three course steak dinner to a mosquito!!! They can be a bit bad in summer in Mandurah.
If you ensure you spray yourself well during the summer months, dusk is probably the worst time (and they have stopped spraying). I use citronella oil burner from Bunnings, and light it for half an hour before I go out if I am entertaining and I dont have an issue they work really well.

I don't get bitten for some reason spent a lot of time in some places where mossies are rife but can't be to there liking.......just thinking of the wife and kids, I see the council have a part of there website dedicated to mossies just wondered how bad it actually is? If your sat out of an evening are you constantly swatting the little sods?

I am! But then I'm the opposite I've been to places where my friends have said there are no mozzies and still come away like the elephant woman!! When I have had friends round some nights we have definitely all noticed it, like I said though just ensure you have your oil burner out and use spray it's fine. I remember reading once all people get bitten you just don't always know if your skin doesn't react. Mozzies are found everywhere here I think it pays to have a good anti mozzie regime as much as a slip slap slop regime. But in answer to your question yes the mozzies are I would say noticeably worse in Mandurah.

We were in port kennedy for a month all of january one year and we sat out every night and never got bit once, last year we were in Brisbane in april for a month and got bitten to death, we had over 30 bites each on our legs, that swelled up and ouzed puss they were horrible, but we were told they were probably sand flies ............. didn't put us off though, it was fantastic and once we used the carbon coils, we hardly got bit at all.

Hi, The mozzies have been bloody dreadful this year. The council do spray for the but it hasn't helped much! There's been a lot in the paper about it & everyone say's in there that they've been living here for years & they've never had them like this year, so here's hoping it was a one off! X
