Hi everyone

Have had a recent operation and medical has been reffered to HOC Sydney. We are hoping to go to Aus on Student Visa and my husband is due to start his course in February 09. Anyone any idea how long this is likely to delay or affect our visa? Cheers Nicola

My friends hubby had gone through major knee surgery and under a specialist who said it was likely that he would need further surgery later in life.. His medicals cleared only a couple of weeks after hers - the delay wasn't a major one.

Allow about 3.5 weeks from the referral date and then e-mail the Health Operations Centre, I suggest, to see how they are getting on. Stress the urgency when you e-mail:

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately we have an agent so I understand that the HOC will only release information to him. Nicola
