Me and my other half have been together 4 10 years.have 2 kids aged 7+1.Ian is a time served Carpenter/Joiner and works very hard, but we never c him!and we never have any money!!!
We r looking 2 move over 2 Oz for a better lifestyle
Any advice given about anything would b great.
Thanks.Anna.
Pretty much everything you'll ever need to know about moving to Oz and what to do once you get out there you'll be able to find on this site. There's lots of carpenters/joiners as well, who will be able to tell you what you need to know about the skills assessment. Lots of people on here are using an Agent to help them move, but lots are choosing not to and saving themselves a bit of £ in the process! So, anything you need to know just ask away. What part of Oz are you thinking of or is it too early for that?
Cheers

Hi, i dont think you ever know for sure if the grass is greener, as each person will feel differently about living in Oz once here, some settle well and others are dying to get back to the UK. Its great if you can come and try it though and even if you dont stay-its one of lifes experiences.

Re Location,It just depends on where the work is i suppose.I dont really want 2 b in a city,But anywhere is better than HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm 16 and went to Sydney, Cairns and Brisbane (+Sunshine coast) in July of this year... and words cannot describe how much I love Australia!!!
Of course, I went for a holiday and so living may be different but so many people move there and love it and the lifestyle would be great so I'd say go for it!
Any questions just ask,
Regards,
Dan x

Hi Anna,
We're all with you on that! The UK is awful at the moment, so depressing.
I read lots on here about there being lots of carpentry work in Queensland, the Gold Coast is booming from what I can make out. Have a look at Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au as well to check out house prices. And, theres some awesome books called 'Where to live in (insert name of city e.g. Melbourne) ' which give lots of info about each suburb in each city. You can order them on Amazon.
