Smile Hi there - Where to Choose?

Hi everyone, just joined up. We've just received back verification of qualifications and now have the go ahead to apply for Visa 175 or 176. Really excited about the prospect of finally getting the visa application under way, Its taken 4/5 months to get this far !

I assume many people have gone through the same question . . . where to move - Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth ? what are other everyone elses preference?

many thanks

Richard & Samantha

Hi and Welcome to PIO,

Well I think I have been one of the worse ones on here trying to decide where to go but we have finally decided on Brisbane. I am happy to share how we came to this decision but at the end of the day it really is up to your needs and what you are looking for out your move to oz. As of course everyone has different needs, what is right for one person isn't right for another.

Feel free to pm me, if you want to know why we chose Brisbane.

All the very best
Mandisfam

Hi there thanks for your response. Out of interest what appealed to you about Victoria, also what re the distinct advantages of going for the 176 over the 175, assuming you could be elegible for both.

regards

Richard

Hi Richard we could choose several states for our state sponsorship but Victoria appealed to us more, we looked on the internet and bought loads of mags, also i have a friend who emigrated last year to Melbourne, so she has given us alot of info about the place
Good luck

Question try inland

We emigrated straight to a central west NSW country area 16 years ago, which has 4 seasons just like england, we even get the odd bit of snow. It was a great place to acclimatise, (as moving straight to Perth in summer would have killed us). Poms think about going inland for a change, there are still plenty of jobs and housing is cheaper, plus some government departments moved out to the country instead of being in Sydney. A new gold mine opened up employing thousands and still has plenty of jobs on offer and is not a remote fly in fly out mine- it is only 26kms out of our town. The local hospital has plenty of nursing jobs on offer and now has most of the specialist medical care that a big metropolitan city has to offer. My children really enjoyed the country lifestyle (horses and motorbikes). Why does everyone insist on moving to the coast?
