Lightbulb different reasons for moving to oz?

hi again. just been having a quick nosy through some of the posts on here about moving to Oz and as there is a lot of information and help from members for families selling up, finding jobs and moving out there, but has any member met an Australian either while on holiday there or met them while they have been in the uk .. entered into a relationship and decided to make the move over to Oz to be with them? is the process still the same as it would be for a family or is it totally different ???

i think i have to much thinking time on my hands

It's what I did a lifetime ago!

I came to Australia on holiday, fell in love at first sight (thank goodness it was mutual) "corresponded" for 3 years before we finally got married. We first lived in PNG and then in UK where we had DS1 and came to Aus when DH got an offer he couldnt refuse. For us it was plain sailing because we had been married for over 5 years and had an Aus registered baby - I got a spouse PR visa with very little trouble (DH just had to prove that he could afford to keep me and I had to assure them that I had never been in an institution for the criminally insane). Been here 29 years now and think it is time we went home (my home) but he wont go - that's always a problem with mixed marriages
