Like you our move to Oz is a long time in the making (6 years) we hope (house sale allowing) that we will finally make it in Jan 09 to Brisbane. Me and my husband have done nothing but research the move since deciding. Emigration exhibitions are a great place to start, allsorts of info on money, transport, pensions, jobs etc. We attended a few run by a company called Emigrate, their website is www.emigrateshow.co.uk We attended one at Sandown Park amd another in Coventry and they were well worth the visit. Lots of migration agents too. We're going on a sponsored visa, therefore I cannot give you any info in terms of agent performance.

Hi Lorraine, I'm Vickie and 32, my husband is Glen and he is also a telecommunications engineer. We have two girls Paris (4) and Holly (2).

We are exactly in the same boat as you. We have decided that we want to emigrate, and are also going to attend the Thinking Australia seminar in Bristol on Sunday.

Glen spoke to a recruitment guy this week who said that all of the telecom engineering jobs are mainly based in Melbourne and Sydney, which is cool. I think we will look at Melbourne.

It's so scary, and I'm really wary of starting the visa process because of the cost and being able to afford it. I know if there's a will there's a way.

unfortunatly we did nt make the seminar today, we had trouble gettin a sitter, tris was going to go on his own, but we decided to go to the next one.

It's a shame you missed the seminar. It was excellent, and has finally made us make the decision to go for it. We are now going to arrange a one on one with Thinking Australia, and then we're going to use them as our agency and go for it.

Our kids will have a much better life than here,and so will we. So exciting.
