Good Luck on your travels to you and your family too Steve. When we fly out in October we are staying for two weeks in the Frankston area in Patterson Lakes until we find a rental in Berwick.

Good Luck.

Hi Everyone,
We are The Clarkes...Chris, Clare, Jordan (16), Brooklyn (15), Ebony (14), Kirby (11) and Joseph (2), We are also hoping to move to the Berwick area, just got our Visas this morning in fact so are walking on air at the moment!
My Husband is a Landscape Gardener/Fencing contractor and Im a Hairdresser, I hope the opportunities for work will be plentiful there especially for my Husband as he is hoping to get out to work after about 4 weeks.
If anyone knows of any sort of work suitable for him would love to hear from you, even if its labouriong to start off with can put his hand to most things!
Would love to meet up with other families in the area and any advice would be very much appreciated.
Does anyone know anything about Berwick Secondary College either or the zones you must live in to go there.
Thanks for your time TheClarkes x

hello marie, Looks like us poms will have taken Berwick by storm in September, we, (me, hubby Steven, Chloe 9, & Logan 5) are a few weeks behind you guys and fly out on the 28th sept! I havent sorted schools yet but had looked at Berwick primary as a possible. Be great to know what your plans are, if you have jobs, accomodation etc. We are just sorting out still and my head is spinning, so be good to get any tips if you have any to share!

we are coming to berwick also but not until may time - fingers crossed. we stayed with friends in may of this year and fell n love with the place. my friends daughter goes to berwick secondary - she likes it although not many english, found it difficult to make friends initially but now settled, nice school, big and lots of extra curriculum activites.

it wll be nice to know there will be so many poms in berwick when we finally arrive, i will be looking you up again by then.

good luck with the settlement and keep us all posted.

Just wanted to add that i am feeling very excited today, it's so inspirational that we are all doing this together, don't you all agree? I mean we all live in different parts of the Uk and yet, we are all going to be in the same or close suberbs all those thousands of miles away!! When someone asks "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" I can now honestly answer that I hope to be settled in Australia, and just think some of us on here might still be friends!?
Does anyone believe that we create our own destiny or that it is already mapped out for us? ( sorry worked with a girl who has a masters in philosophy!)
BUT........it COULD be that we are destined to meet!
So sorry, gone off on a tangent slightly, think i'm currently living on adrenaline alone!
Take care all

Just thought I'd whet your appetites and tell you that it's starting to warm up slightly now (at last). The other morning, I'd just dropped Haylz off at school and when I came past Berwick Springs, a pair of black swans were proudly showing of four little grey ducklings. So that evening we went on a bike ride around the Springs and took some bread and biscuits. Can't wait till we can take a picnic down there and sit in the sunshine.
