Hi Tricia

They are moving abit quicker now. It all slowed down because of the changes on the 1/9/07 and of course then clearing the backlog and then their quota was full and everyone had wait until 1/7/08 for the visas to start being issued again.

We applied for a 175 on the 16/11/08 we was granted our visa on the 1/7/08, I would have thought that yours will not take so long as ours did so cut abt 6 weeks of our time line and you could have your visa if not sooner.

You are so lucky to have sold your home at least you can just go when you get your visa. Your file will go to a CO and then a DM, do you check your on-line status on the website?

Good Luck Kim

Hi Kim
I am never off it when imoved house last week we had no broadband for 9 days i nearly tore my hair out not being able to look. But the waiting is so frustating as my son breaks up from school on 18th july not sure weather he will be going back or what i am the type of person who likes to ,plan and be organised but at present cant do either. so do you think we should hear within the next few weeks or months. regards tricia

To be honest I would have thought that you would get a CO July/August time. Have you already done your form 80? If not if I were you i would down load this now and get it to them as for sure they will ask for it. Have you an agent?
On your application it should soon if not already say 'further processing commenced' try and look and see whilst you have access to a computer. Once CO passes to a DM it could take from a day to 4 weeks.
I think at the very latest you should have your visa by October. I do think your son would probably be going back to school here in the UK in September though. Unfortunately my son wanted to finish too but he also will be going back in Sept now.
I know what you mean its horrible not knowing what your doing.

But focus on the visa being allocated October and it will be bonus if its any earlier coming, as they do say 8/9 months.

Good luck and keep us updatedx

HI TRICIA,We are pretty much in the same boat, how ever we have submitted all the paper work and done medicals, our visa GSM 175 was lodged on the 28th Feb 08, we were told it could take up to 7 months to process.I did how ever ring London LAST WEEK and they did say that once we were allocated a case officer it would be very quick as My fella has a job to go to (we also have his work in Australia trying to speed things up although we dont hold out much hope as it depends on DIMA as to how quickly they approve the visa.We sold our house last JULY and hoped to be out there for April this year WE ARE STILL WAITING,My children too where hoping not to go back in Sept but we have had to say to school you may be seeing them back.Apparently there has been a influx of applications and they have not the staff to cope with them, they are taking on more staff in the hope to clear the back log, this is what OUR MIGRATION EXPERT has told us, so alas like yourself we are having to play the waiting game, frustrating i know i want to be able to pack up stuff but i carnt till we get the visa ourselves, but hopefully it wont be too long, once it does arrive we want to be gone in 6to 8 weeks from it comming through.THE FORM 80 is the Personal character form this should be on the website in which you did your visa application you can download the forms, you will need that along with your police checks , they can take up to 40 DAYS to come through at a cost of £10.00 each person (adult), we sent all this stuff along with our VISA application form to our migration officer so was lodged all at the same time having had the medicals done last AND EXSPENSIVE too they are, i hope this has helped , i try hard to keep my chin up, we just want to go go go now.regards Mark and Rikki
