Advice needed PLEASE!!

Hello everyone,

We are new on this site and desperate for some advice. We are looking at going to Adelaide and have been on the poms in adelaide site which has been very helpful and everyone on there are very friendly. Our problem is this: My OH is a joiner and we have been told he can earn more in Oz and its a better life. Lots of people on poms in adelaide seem to be really struggling to manage as salaries are low and cost of living high, with some people unable to get jobs.

Are we looking at the wrong area of OZ? Is there anyone out there that can give us some advice on the best areas to go? I know a lot of Brits tend to go to Perth, would we be better looking there?

If there is anyone that can give some advice we would be so very very grateful

We are so set on moving to Oz but need to make sure we are doing the right thing.

Hi Julie, try posting your thread under another heading, or have you searched through the threads to see if you can get any info. We're hoping to go to Victoria so can't help you

Hi Julie/Steve, I have only ever visited Adelaide for a few days, found it small-ish, quiet, a "big country town" as the Aussies would say. You might be better looking in areas where construction and development are busier like along the eastern coast.

Sydney is always busy, but very big, and expensive for real estate. Have you thought about Brisbane, Gold Coast area?? There is always construction of some kind going on around area. Try seek.com or career.one websites to check out jobs/salaries etc.
