Hi, we have just found out about this site and this is our first post. We have our visas and have just returned from 3 weeks near Melbourne. We are moving to Oz as soon as our house in the Uk sells. We are not too sure about Victoria ! so we are seriously considering moving somewhere near Brisbane. We have 2 daughters aged 13 & 14 (who are a bit worried about moving). I work in Human Resources and my husband is an Engineering working on CNC machines. Any info on the Brisbane area, the best suburbs, schools, weather, bugs & beasties and jobs would be hugely appreciated.

We are heading Brisbane way too! We have 2 boys 16 and 14 and they have visited Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane - and Brisbane is where they want to live so thats where we are going!! Although eldest did like Melbourne too, for me I quite liked Adelaide - emmm so many decisions!

Not in Brisbane, lower down on the Gold Coast, but wanted to also welcome you to Poms in Oz.
Plenty of bugs and beasties about this way; mainly cockroaches in our house (until we had it sprayed!) but you get used to them. Not seen any snakes as yet, fingers crossed it stays that way!
