1st timers!

hello to everyone on PIO.this is a first post from us so it could be a bit boring sorry! im steve married to anna,we have three kids eddie10 charlie7 millie 2.Im a painter by trade which is how were getting out there.we have applied for a 175 visa. i got TRA acceptance nov o7.we are now sending off our forms for PR TO THE DIAC.our agent has told us it will be between 7 to 8 months before we get a case officer appionted.then another 2 months before we get our answer if meds and police checks are ok.has anyone else come to the point where they just want to go as it seems to take a lifetime for things to happen!we now thinking would it be quicker and cheaper to do it online.too late now but might help others to choose.any replies greatfully recieved.

Welcome to PIO am sure you will find everyone very helpful! You are certainly not alone I think everyone at the minute is just sick of waiting for things to move but hang in there we all get there eventually.

thanks nikci,makes it a bit easier knowing we're not alone.where are you hoping to end up?for us its around bribane not sure where exactly.i guess it will be a case of finding work then somewhere to live.

We applied on-line on the 16/11/08 and still waiting for the Visa (same as you 175).

Your right and when you have made up your mind you want to go then you just want out!

You better buy another pc because you'll be fighting each other to use it!

We've been 9 months so far, so if you aim for that you shouldn't get too frustrated....what am i saying, you'll be tearing your hair out!

Hi Steve and Anna welcome to PIO it is a great site, very addictive. Everything seems to take ages from TRA, medicals and visa applications, best of luck with yours.

we were originally told it would take about 18months start to finish.that will probably be about right.its just the long wait in between each set of paperwork that is the killer.i could do with a countdown meter which gets updated each month so you now whats happening(make that each minute lol)!

welcome to pio. i'll echo what others say this site is addictive but great!!
Our process took 10 months from start to finish, just need to sell to house now and boy is that stressfull!!
