Newbie hoping for some advice

My OH and I would like to move to Australia with our two young children. My OH is a Joiner/Carpenter and I do the accounts for his business at present albeit it I have no formal qualifications. We are in the preliminary stages of doing this and would like to do a bit of research i.e. jobs situation, cost of living, schooling etc but not sure the best place to go to. I did look at the Australian Emigration site but felt it just told the basics and not too much else. Would be grateful for any help and advice that you guys can give me

Hello Suzy

Welcome to Poms in Oz.

Which part of Oz are you planning to move to, please, and how old are your children?

If you can let us have the children's ages and where (approx) you want to live in Oz, I'm sure loads of members will be able to help with your queries.

Best wishes

Gill

Hiya Suzy & welcome to PIO

We moved over August last year, although we have been over to Oz a few times b4 as we have lots of family over here.

The hardest part in knowing where you want to settle, we were going to Melbourne first then Sunshine Cost & Brisbane, we finally settled on the Gold Cost and have to say we are loving it over here, the kids have settled into school and have made lots of friends as have we.

Good luck with everything and keep us informed of how your going
