Hi Bridget,
My OH also plumber, have two boys and hopefully off to sunshine coast this summer. We came back from trip to oz in Feb. Loved Caloundra, Pelican Waters though where we eventually settle will depend on OH work.
Being nosey have visited already? Does OH have any work lined up?

Hello Bridget, we live at Golden Beach near Caloundra. It's a great area for families, the beaches are lovely and Golden Beach State School is a good school. We have been living here for 3 1/2 months. Our kids have made lots of friends and every-one is friendly. If I can help you with any-thing let me know.

hiya welcome to poms in oz ,i like Kawana Waters for familys although Caloundra is lovely. Its also pricey and you would have to up your price abit to get something nice. There arent many areas that arent nice up there though so im sure youll find somewere.have a look on Real Estate, Property, Land and Homes for Sale, lease and rent - realestate.com.au for a guide to property prices you can search by suburb

Hi Bridget, we are heading to the Sunshine Coast too, we have two children 6/10. My husband is an electrician and we too have submitted the Skilled 175. It's been a month since we did the online app. and nothing as yet! My friend moved there last April, they have two kids and love it there.

When are you hoping to move there? We are aiming for Dec/Jan but not sure when we can put the house on the market.....the wait is on!

Bernie

Hi there, weve been on the SC for 7 months now and love it, Ive got 2 small boys, and its a great place for kids.

Weve bought a house in Buderim, and our house is about a 12 min drive into Mooloolaba, which is just fantastic.

Spend most weekends at the beach, or going into the hinterland, around Maleny & Monteville, which is just beautiful.

My husband is a carpenter, and has a good job up in Noosa, although he may look for something a little closer later on this year.

Ive got friends in Beerwah, and they love that as well.

Basically, the SC coast is great !!

Hi, we are in Beerwah, The sunny coast is fab for families, we love currimundi lake and beach, and spend lots of time at the various beaches around, and at Australia zoo of course!!
Schools here are really nice too, but on the downside it is quite hard to secure a rental as so many people want to come here, unskilled jobs are pretty hard to come by (especially part time) and the property market seems to be always on the up, especially over the last 12 months, seems to be slowing at the moment though!!
There are lots of migrants on the coast, and so much to do!! (most f which is free!)
Oh yeah...the sun does always shine here!!
