Hi

We went to the sunshine coast last August, sent 10 days in Caloundra and thought what a lovely place, we hope to move there this August but have not sold the house so it may be postponed now.

Getting very nervous, not knowing anyone and leaving family and friends behind.

I read on previous posts that rentals are hard to come by, we have a dog so would that go against us?

Wendy.

caloundra and surrounding area

Hi there
We live in Moffat Beach near caloundra (3 mins drive) It is a fanatastic life here and so much more ideal for people with kids. We have spent lots of time around Aus and we are like so many other Families who really want to stay on the Sunshine Coast. YOU just have everything youcould wish for here. Weekends are wonderful as it is so relaxing and the beach is a stones throw. Best thing we ever did was to come here. It was hard at first though missing everyone at home...
Best of luck and if you need to know anything let us know. YOu may find it hard to get a rental with your dog I would make sure you sort something out first. the rental situation is a bit better now.

Hi

We hope to be out there before the end of the year as long as this house sells.
We are also looking at the Sunshine Coast and I quite fancied Buderim but my Daughter who lives in Brissie says that a little way out of Buderim we would get more for our money.
Although been to Oz twice we have not really looked around at specific areas to live. I didnt want to get my hopes up in case I didnt get my visa.

Kawana Waters does sound nice as does Mooloolaba and Monteville and Maleny.................

Oh well does anyone want to buy a house in the UK??????? Didn't think so :-)

Hi Sharon H, Golden Beach is a primary school. There is a high school in Caloundra which is supposed to be a good school. There are some rentals around but often you get quite alot of people applying. The average weekly rent is around $350-$400. Sharon.

Can you not try the local hospitals directly? Although the main centre for paediatrics is royal brisbane hopsital. Nambour have paediatric ward but not sure about NICU. If u go to www.scdgp.com.au you can find out some of the local hopsital information there.
