HI ALL WE ARE THE CARTERS. WE ARE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF PLANNING THE BIG MOVE SO IF ANT ONE HAS ANY ADVICE IT WOULD BE GREAT. IM A MECHANIC WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF SPONSERSHIP NR BRISBANE WE ARE NERVOUSE BUT EXCITED BUT LIKE EVERYONE WE SEEM TO HAVE DAYS WHEN YOU WONDER IF ITS ALL WORTH IT ? SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY REASURANCE THOUGHTS I WOULD BE GREATFULL .MATT RACH AND THE KIDS

Hi, welcome to PIO. I have a bit of positive info for you.

I went to the skills expo at Australia House in March and whilst I am not a mechanic I had a good chat with the guy on the stall that was recruiting Mechanics because he looked bored. It was the quitest stall at the expo and he said he was only expecting to see 60 to 70 people all day. He was really positive about mechanics getting sponsorship as the number of mechanics applying was so much less than those of us in areas like I.T.

I remember thinking, I wish I was a mechanic. Very best of luck and hope it works out.

Welcome to PIO Matt & Rach, sit back and relax, it's a long ride

It's good to have some doubts as to whether it's all worth it, they just help you resolve issues that may be worrying either of you then you can focus on the emigration process again... until the next doubt comes along! In that period you have time to assess and re-assess it all and make the right decision for you and the kids, whether thats to stay in Greyland (sorry England) or try Oz

We are still at the early stages at the mo and have no doubts it will be the right move for us and the kids, thats not to say 'fear of change' won't try and give us a niggling little doubt every now and again
