Aus or bust!

Hi Folks

Newbie alert!

I've been busting to go and see what Australia is like for years and years but never had the opportunity to do so before. I've a business in the UK (ISP) and want to open a branch office, or brand new business, whichever will be most beneficial to getting us there later, in Melbourne. We're going off to Oz shortly, firstly to Sydney (pampered holiday for 4 days) and then off to Melbourne to try and figure out how to set it all up. WOW! I can't believe we're actually doing it.

Any help or advice with the setting up of the business, how to do it for the best/easiest migration later etc. would be most gratefully accepted and appreciated.

Looking forward to having a gander around the board!

Thanks for the welcome. Really looking forward to our trip out in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see what the place is really like and how it compares to our original homeland, South Africa. We moved from Durban to the UK in 1993 so it's been a long time!

Not really sure about setting up your own business - someone said to me a while back that you had to be here 2 years and have PR at least before they would let you but I could be wrong and also depends on what visa you come in on I think.
