Hi Julie

Firstly would like to welcome you to PIO. This is the best site ever, dont know what I would do without it, you get so much information and I have made some lovely friends also.

I too am like yourself, I will be leaving my eldest daughter here in the UK, she is 21, heartbreaking as it is, I have to think of my other 3 children and what kind of lifestyle we will be giving them.

Anyway ask away, there will always be someone on here who will be able to answer any of your questions.

Good luck with your journey.

Hi to Julie & Debbie ...I am leaving both of mine behind , they are allegedly adults at 29 & 24 ..... but I live in hope that they will follow us out, daughter is a student nurse who is coming out to Oz at Christmas for a "reccy", my son and his partner are expecting their first baby and have now changed their minds from "NEVER" to ..well maybe ...so only time will tell.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hi Sue

Will certainly keep my fingers crossed that your family follow you out to oz. I too am hoping that once we are living out there that when my daughter comes over to visit she will decide she wants to stay.

We can live in hope.

Hi and welcome to PIO - as you can see there's a few on here who have been in a similar situation (and as few more who haven't responded yet).

Good luck

Ali

hi all of you leaving your kids behind , we are moving out to sydney in september from south of england i will be leaving behind my 24 year old son & grandson which is ok as i know they will visit and hopefully move out later but my partner is leaving behind his 11 year old daughter who lives with her mum , he is really worried that he wont be able to handle not seeing her regularly although he knows she would come out for long holidays , im worried he,l have to come back and it would tear us apart ,even though he knows the move would be best for everyone in the long run. MY other 2 boys are coming with me aged 13 & 17, im hoping they will settle quickly .good luck to all you brave people .....lyndy..
