We haven’t lived in Sydney for 4 years now but have many friends still out there. House prices and rental rates don’t seem to have changed much since the drop post the 2000 Olympics boom, but are still very high. Here another site to look at for real estate. Bonzer Sheila, thanks for the links you sent. I will be working in the CBD on Park Street, Town Hall station literally round the corner, so train would be ideal. I will only be 10 minutes from Wynard as well so pretty flexible. I'm looking at a door to door commute of up to about an hour...
