New and ALONE going to OZ Maybe!

Hi - just joined - mum of 4 boys with an interview next month that will take us all to Canberra for a new life - anyone else done it alone - I do have relatives in OZ but not in Canberra - would be great to hear from you if you are going to the same place possibly or are a single parent going to a different part of the country.

BLIMEY...I'm not a single parent but i admire your courage. I reckon if your brave enough to make a big step on your own like that, then your definatly strong enough to make it work.

What a great thought!! - Boys are hoping I get through the interview!! They have packed their bags - LOL -
Will hope and pray - can't imagine it can be much harder than here - work, school, but more time to spend with them outdoors I hope!

Hi Tess, me and my daughter arrived in Perth 3 months ago, just us, dont know anyone. A bit daunting to start off with but having a good time and slowly getting things sorted, daughter settled in well. Just about found the work/home life balance (had been made to work permanent fri sat sun mon nights-pretty hard with childcare @ wkends-but managed to change shifts now). I manage to work night shifts as i have a uni student who lives with us for free in return for babysitting overnight. Working out well so far. Finding it a little hard to meet people but ill get there. It will be a great move for your kids!
