Spain to Oz

Hi Everyone
I am new to this site and have been living in Spain for three years but I am moving to Melbourne and was wondering if anyone can recommend a removal company. Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

We were living in Spain (costa del sol) before we came to oz - i will check my old emails for the company we used as i cant remember at the mo, there are not that many that move you from Spain to uk and then onto oz without changing companies or direct from Spain to Oz (what i mean is with stayed with the one co through the entire move)
Guess it would be hard work using a co to get items from Spain to uk and then another to Australia from uk - it is possible to use a company in Spain and go direct to Oz but from the quotes we had we decided against that as the cost was a lot more & it is cheaper to ship items back to uk & then onto oz (as more regular shipments go from the uk & the wait would have been twice as long from Spain)
Hope you not too confused !!!! - i will let you know when i have found name of co we used

Thanks for your reply..... was looking for company to ship direct from Spain, as have to move quite soon. But will also look into going to UK first if that will be quicker. Would really appreciate names of companies that ship direct though if poss

Hi jackie,

Found the companies, one we had a quote from in Spain was Skelton International www.skelton-international.com (952 243139) they move direct from Spain to Oz, the one we used was Witham Brothers from Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex - not sure why our removals went back to uk first but they were cheaper than the other co.

How does Oz compare to Spain - I have enjoyed living here but am excited about starting a new life there (also getting very scared!!!)

Spain is much hotter in the summer months compared to where we are in oz, they talk english which makes life so much easier (my spanish wasnt brill but i was good with ma colours) and they drive on the left which is easier than on the right lol

where in Spain are you ?

We moved from Los Boliches, Costa del Sol, to Melbourne in late October 2007. We used John Mason Removals and found them professional and very helpful. Their advice was always spot-on and they replied promptly to our queries. They arranged pick-up via their local Spanish agents to Liverpool and then on to Melbourne. They also arranged delivery of our effects to our Melbourne address. It took 13 weeks from pick-up to delivery, with no damages or breakages, and they also took away the cartons after we had unpacked. They can also arrange storage in Melbourne if required.
