Hi there and thanks for the warm welcome.
we emigrated from the UK a few years back, we were looking at both Oz and NZ at the same time but a job offer came up in NZ first so we spent a while there before moving across the ditch with 457 visas. My husband came over in July last year and myself and the kids followed at the end of Nov.
I've been here on the Gold Coast for almost 6 months now and absolutely love it here - not sure if this is still the "honeymoon" period still but it seems to get better every day. We live in Robina Dales which has everything we want :- lovely street environment and a lake, good "corner shops" (Easy T centre), beaches 10 mins drive one way and the start of the hinterland only 10 mins the other, Robina Town Centre, rail station and school.
I haven't always loved Australia - the first few times we came here we weren't too impressed and then it began to grow on us and then we discovered Queensland and fell in love with it.
Really looking forward to becoming part of the community here and sharing experiences with you all.
