We've decided on starting in Brisbane staying for about a week (in the city or the suburbs?) then moving up the sunshine coast (in a campervan?) for 10 days or so to check things out north of Brisbane whilst going to Noosa, Fraser & Whitsundays. Then back to Brisbane.

Anybody got any suggestions whether to stay in the city or just north for the 1st week (Redcliffe/Scarborough) and whether the motorhome option is a good one? Also what sort of things we can check out?

Thanks
Alan
Hello Hughes family,

We are off to oz in Decemer, staying in Sydney with family first then flying up to Brissie. We are staying in a B&B there for 3 nights and hoping to go to Australia Zoo and Moreton Island (dolphins), then we are driving down to Surfer Paradise (theme parks), staying for 2 nights in a B&B about 30mins away, then we are driving to Port Macquarie for 2 nights - Koala hospital and Rainforest centre (and a look around the place as it liiks nice to me) Then back to Sydney in time for Xmas. Sorry if it sounds like I'm waffling, but I am soooo excited (more than the kids) Knowing that if OH likes it, we will be able to go for the big move! There are so many places to see and visit, you will be spoilt for choice. I wanted to do more, but with 2 young kids, we had to keep it family friendly. Good luck - I hope you find what you are looking for.

Emma

If you hire a campervan big 4 caravan parks are good standard and if you become a member you get discount which soon gets you your membership costs back and more. they will also offer a book ahead service from one park to another, saves you the hassle and cost of phone calls.
If you decide to stay in accomodation breakfree resorts are good they cater for families, they both have websites just goole the names.
Movie world is a great place to take the kids, scoobydoo ride is awsome fun! also wet and wild is good.
Hope this helps, enjoy your stay.

Just to update...thanks for the replies & suggestions.
Our latest thoughts are to just hire a car as we've been told there are plenty of places , b&bs , motels, available apartments etc.

Really looking forward to going now...

Cheers
Alan

Hi

If you go into the shopping centre at Surfers Paradise there is a stand in there that sells tickets for all of the attractions. You can get them all in one go if you want to. There is whale watching, sea world, Australilia Zoo, Currumbin wildlife sanctuary, wet and wild, etc.

Also, there is a woollies there so you can stock up on your shopping.

Have a great time - I'm sure you will. We went last July/August for 3 weeks and couldn't fit in half of the things we wanted to do.

Karen
