new & hello from epsom 175

Hi,

My wife son and I are hoping to move to Sydney by the end of the year.
Warm weather, living near the beach and a more relaxed balanced way of life is what we are hoping for.

But does anyone know how long it will take to be assigned a case worker if our applicatin was received on the 22nd October last year?

Hi,

Just wanted to welcome you to PIO. Am sure that you will be getting case officer soon - ASPC website said they were assigning online applications from the 1 Nov 2007 - so should think you will have one soon.

All the best,
Nikci

PS: Also headed out to NSW - Terrigal/Erina area!

Hi back

Hi Mark

Thanks for the info, if those times are anything to go by then we may need to wait another month or 2 but another reply suggests it should be any day now.
I had this feeling of dread that we could be here for a couple more winters, let's hope not.

We've been to nonsuch quite a few times. Our son loves to ride his bicycle there and it's a good chance to all get some fresh air.

We've just come from a dinner with some friends who are visiting from Sydney. It sounds so amazing except for the snakes & spiders. They were telling us about a tunnel web spider that has fangs that can pierce an adults toenail. I'm not the sort of person who has phobias about them but that sounds just a little painfull. Otherwise they were saying that north Sydney is great for commuting into the city and it has great schools and the suburbs of the northern beaches seem to be ideal for families. One thing they did say is that there are state schools and then there are 'select' schools. The select schools are still state schools but they get better funding and are much better.

Cheers for the feedback... Alan

Thanks but we sent in a paper application....!?
It seems that the electronic ones get processed faster - I suppose it's too late now and the first round nearly killed the wife!

Thanks Cal & Gary

Hi, thanks for the wishes. Our visit last night with friends from Sydney gave us a bit of a boost.
We've been planning this move for the last 5 years and been thinking about it for about 8.
Does anyone know about the Aussie expo in London weekend after next?

my wife tracey hates snakes but has an even worst fear of spiders! but she is still prepared to go to oz and tolerate the creepies
when we visited friends in 2006 we saw no nasties the 3 weeks we were there and our friends had been in oz 3 yrs and only seen 2 huntsman!
