So glad I found this site- it's comforting to know that others are in the same situation and you are all so helpful. It's a pleasure to be on here and I can't wait to start picking all of your brains about moving to Oz... I have a lot of questions!!! LOL.
We are Craig and Nicky, we're thinking of moving to Oz with our 3 children
(15, 13 and 10) and four dogs!! No idea where yet, possibly Perth area.
Don't really know where to start or what to say, no visa application as yet, we've toyed with the idea of emigrating before but nothing came of it, this time we've made our minds up this is what we want. (Scottish winters do strange things to folk!)
Anyone offering advice, info or just to say hi would be appreciated.

Im sure you will be very welcome on PIO, we're a really friendly bunch on here. Plus we're always looking for new brains to pick...lol.. Believe me this sight is the new class A drug, very addictive, but you will swear blind to love ones that your not addicted, and you can come off it anytime you like...lol.. You'll see...xx

Where abouts in Melbourne are you off too. We have a 15yr old, a 13yr old and an 8 yr old plus the little fella who's 2. We are hoping, all being well to be there by christmas. What does your 15 yr old think about the exam situation, I take it he/she will be doing te victorian equivelant. xx
hi all, we have been in Melbourne now for 6 months with our 3 kids and starting to get homesick now things have calmed down, but we said we will give it 12months no matter what. The kids love it its just us

I only joined about an hour ago and have already found tonnes of fantastic info on this forum!!!!!
I am already in Oz on a working holiday visa with my OH who has permanent residency, we are just getting my defacto spouse application together.
We live in Western Autstralia, we were in Perth the first 4 months which is the most BEAUTIFUL city - now we live in country WA, 4 hours south of Perth (due to OHs job) and its still fantastic!
Trying not to get too content here until I too have a long-term visa, but its hard not too. Would definitely recommend Perth to anyone, its a fab place - smaller and quieter than the east coast, but just gorgeous :)
