Emma, sounds like we're in similar boats! My hubby is a joiner so he is on the skills list, we'll need to hurry though as i've also been told that once he turns 35 it will become more difficult to get a visa granted, he's 34 in a couple of months...... but I have no real quals and haven't worked for a few years. I have an NC in Travel & Tourism and have worked part-time in hotels, supermarkets etc when the kids were younger. Maybe i'll add to my skills by learning another language, always going to come in handy!
I'm also feeling a little deflated, so soon too! You may have gathered that our dogs are very important to us and if they can't come, we can't either. I was told by a few people that more than two dogs will be a problem, so I downloaded a list of local laws for the Perth area since that's pretty much where we've decided on. Sure enough, maximum is two
".......unless the premises have been granted exemption pursuant to section 26(3) of the Act or are licensed as an approved kennel establishment under section 27 of the Act......"
We do want to get the kennel license as that's what we wanted to do here anyway......we have gone to the very best kennels in the country for our foundation stock and have our kennel affix. I know, we've done it back to front, but when we were first thinking of emigrating we only had two dogs, we decided to stay here and establish our kennel. We should have just gone for it back then as it's always been in the back of our minds! So now we have four dogs and we've now decided we really want to go. I'll have to study the Act in a bit more detail as the file doesn't go as far as the sections that are mentioned, maybe there's a loophole for us.........maybe we'll have to come out before the dogs and have them sent out when we've found somewhere
We always knew we would need to get somewhere rural-ish but we thought we'd need (and have) a bit of time to find somewhere suitable, maybe even build? Are we allowed to do this, anyone know? I was under the impression that immigrants were limited as to what type of property they could buy, and if building, limited to certain areas
