Another new one

Hi all,

Been visiting the site for a few days now since we made our decision to look into moving to oz seriously. We are keen on Adelaide having done some research. Never been to Oz, but clearly we wouldn't be the first to move there without visiting. The site has really helped us to answer a lot of our initial questions. We are both teachers, so hope to get in on a skills visa and we have a little boy, Ben (2).

Anyway that's enough waffle, we are going to appoint an agent in the next few days to get the ball rolling. We can't wait!

Will, Mary and Ben

Hello Will and family, welcome aboard. I know nothing about Adelaide other than it has lots of churches and great white sharks and my husband lived there as a kid.
And not much about teachers. Although my mother in law is a Geography teacher here, going by her this country is badly in need of some well trained Uk type ones.
I know lots about crocodiles, stingers, cane toads and mozzies though.
Have fun!
A x

Thanks for making us feel welcome. We intend to steer clear of crocs and great whites - what's a cane toad?

Hello Will and Co.

Cane toads were introduced to Oz as a means of pest control, but it was a huge mistake and are now considered to be pests themselves. They seem to be everywhere. Thing is, they are toxic and kill any native animal that may ingest them.
People are encouraged to kill them. I believe the humane thing to do is to just put them in the freezer.

Enjoy the forum and good luck with the big move.

Mr & Mrs YG.

Or run over them in your truck.

I've got a pet one on the patio called Freddo. Couldn't hurt him he's my friend.
We have cane toad racing up here. Not been yet.
