Vetassess

Hi everyone, we have been going through the visa process since April 07, and got caught up in the TRA and Vetassess change over, so even though started processing with TRA they ended up throwing loads out (us being one of them) without even looking at it. As result we now going through Vetassess and my husband has passed his paper assessment and has his practical coming up. Sorry to take so long, but the question I would like to ask would be has any one already done this new assessment, and if so what does it involve. My husband is a joiner by the way!!!

Hi Andi, I have put a link (above) that you may find useful, it's from the VETASSESS website.

My OH is doing his building practical assessment soon, we're happy with the VETASSESS route as once you qualify your practical skills assessment you are issued with an Australian Certificate III from VETASSESS, and this is recognised in Australia as a qualification (hence easier to find employment as you have Australian recognised qualification).

I had heard of someone struggling to gain employment once they were in Australia (they had gone the TRA route) as no-one recognised his qualifications over there.

Thanks Jenny for that, we had already looked at that stuff, and that why gets confusing, as was not sure if joiner or carpenter, but we have been promised he is in the right category, so fingers crossed. Good luck to your other half in April doing his test, my hubbys is on Mon 7th, so one of the first, hope that not a bad thing!!!!!!
