Hi Louise and Karen,
It's really great to speak to others going through the same process as us. We used an agent and started our application in June 2006. It did take us quite some time to get all the information together and our application for sponsorship from Queensland was lodged on the 23rd Aug 2006.
We received our sponsorship on 8th February (almost 6 months later!)

The second part of our application, the 163 visa, was lodged on the 24th May 2007 and was granted on the 19th September 2007. We need to have validated by 24th July 2008.

Seems like forever....

I'll start a thread on 163 to see if there's anybody else!!???

I am April, my husband is Richard and our three children are 18, 16 and 12. We go over to Brisbane on 2nd September 08.

Welcome to POI, hope you will find it useful, I certainly have. Any question you have - someone has the answer - it's great! I live in Chatham so not far from you. See you are unable to come to the meet in Sittingbourne, that's a shame they are a good way to find out loads of info and meet lots of people in the same or similar situation.
