our daughter lives in sydney, 2 holidays out there have convinced us its where we want to be

DH got offered a scholarship here so we came. Got stuck here after that.

Had seriously thought about NZ when the kids were tinies, lack of money/equity and the thought of leaving family behind stopped us going

2004
Bro in law got offered a job, they decided to give it a go
Mum passed away suddenly
hubbys Mum passed away suddendly a month later
family friend passed away after battling a brain tumour a couple of weeks later
sis and family went to Oz a couple of days later
my Dad followed them for a holiday over the Xmas (worst xmas of my life)

I went out a couple of months later, Dad was still there! he came back to UK and went back a few months later, he loves it out there and wants to stay for ever

We went as a family for a visit, I loved it, hubby loved it, kids thought it was 'ok' so we applied

started process Nov 2006

18m later we have our visas and will be moving over as soon as we sell our house

not sure now whether both kids will come with us, so wish we had done this years ago

BUT we are going to give it a go, cross our fingers hope the kids at least give it a chance and see what happens
