WelcomeIf you are new to Poms In Oz and migrating to Australia or currently living in Australia feel free to say hi to all the other either in or moving to Oz.
This is our first entry so hello to everybody.
I`m an electrician hoping to move to Queensland with my wife and two children (3 and almost 2). Just collected all the documents for skill assesment. And we know that it is a long process but hopefully it will be worth it in the end. We are fed up with english schools, weather and pretty much everything else.
Any nice advice and encouragement would be nice at this point.
We still have a lot of questions about everything and we can see that you all just might have some answers.

Hi and welcome to PIO - my advise is go for it ... you only live once. My son (8) loves school and was so disappointed that the teachers strike kept him off (he never even talked about school in the UK),
As Cal says the visa process can be a bit of a roller coaster and a bumpy one at that sometimes, but hold on tight and you'll get to the other end.

Thanks for all the advice and support but please can we have some more.
Worried about all the rest of the paper work and especially the exam!!!!!
Calling to anyone who has done the electrical exam and please could give a heads up on what to expected.
Welcome to the site, we are like one big happy family here, so feel free to join in the fun anytime! Chat room is good on Friday and Saturday evenings. Give it a go!
