Hi Judy
Please, please don't worry! "Persons in Oz" is not a very catchy name, you would agree! Nobody is excluded from Poms in Oz just because s/he is not a British Citizen. Everybody except Australian Citizens are all in the same boat where migrating to Oz is concerned.
We've got the occasional American or Canadian member on here, but not lately I don't think.
Your chances of finding US & Canadian Citizens to share experiences with will be better if you join
British Expatriate Community : British Expat Community because they have 10 times more members than we have.
In the BE site, look for two Members. (Search by user name and in the Immigration subsection of the Australia section of BE)
One posts as Comet555. Her name is Haley and I she is defo either American or Canadian. I am 99% sure she is American. Her husband is a mining engineer and they have moved to NSW. Haley did the whole application by herself including having a second baby during the process and working out what to do about a visa for Baby.
The other lady's user name is Dorothy. She is definitely Canadian and they have moved to Perth. Between them I would think that Haley & Dorothy will be in tuch with lots of other American and/or Canadian BE members.
You gave the game away by calling yourself "Mommy" rather than "Mummy." However, without that sort of clue it is actually impossible to tell any of apart, I suggest!
Anyway, why shouldn't your family be PiO's American Mascots as well? You can be a member of both groups if you wish!
Cheers
