If he is living in London how can he be a resident of Ireland ...? He may be a citizen of the Republic, but residency is a function of where you actually live.

You should be carefully considering how you are going to progress the proposed s/c 175 application, as a skills assessment that is issued by the incorrect assessing body could knock the migration process back by weeks.

Best regards.

mmmmm.... thanks,
i did not even think he would have to go through VETASSESS. That may change things. Is this way harder than TRA, or roughly the same?

Different, longer, and more expensive (I'm afraid).

You are welcome to telephone us if you think you may need some formal assistance - with trade skills it is usually best to telephone my colleague Stephen Dickson on Melbourne number 00 61 3 9935 2929.

An alternative is for him to return to the Republic and to lodge an application with TRA (and the subsequent visa application) from there ...

Best regards.

I thought it might be longer and more difficult....
Would he have to return to the Republic for the whole process of the application?

What if he went back for the TRA, and lodgement with DIMA, and then moved back to London while waiting on decision?

I'm afraid this is visa strategy advice for which we would want to have agreed terms and conditions in place with a fee chargeable ...

Best regards.

Hi Patrice

I agree that it is better for OH to go independently if poss but the spouse/partner visa is an option that is available if you are finding the whole TRA/VETASSES difficult to overcome!
I'm sure with the wealth of knowledge everyone has you will get through it ok!

Keep us posted on your progress !
