Smile Wanted down under Perth or Brisbane?

Hi everyone !

I have read through loads of peoples thoughts and experiences, I guess my family and I have all this to come..
We recently returned from Australia as we were one of the families that took part on wanted down under..
We plan another trip in the new year Feb 09 to see friends in perth.
We have lots to do and we are confussed about the implication of just packing up and going out to perth next year for one year and rent our house out here in the UK?

Any ideas - help - support will be gladly recieved.

Kathyw.

Hi which family were you I watched all of them?
We have applied to the 3rd series and have got through to the next round so fingers crossed.
We are hoping to migrate to Adelaide on a 475 SIR visa, hubby is a graphic designer and its the only place that would sponsor him to go.
We are really nervous about going but just know that it is the right thing to do, we are only on a provisional visa for 3 years and then after 2 can get PR. Just not sure whether to sell or rent here too.
What was the program like was it worth it???

Hi there and welcome to PIO,

We're seriously looking in to renting our house out too, only because we're struggling to sell . I guess you've always got the option to come back if you're not sure, that's one advantage to letting your house,

Good luck with it all,

Bec x

Hi.

We are completly addicted to that programme!!!
We have caught the bug and are now saving up to start our visa process. We are looking at Queensland, Coomera area so any help. tips or advice anyone can pass on would be gratefully received. Paul is an electrician so dont think there should be to much trouble in him finding work once he has passed his vetasses process.
Hope all is ok for you.

I've been watching/recording the early morning repeats of the show – I guess it’s a good way to get into sync with the Auzzie time-clock.

We have recently returned from a holiday (Sydney and Port Douglas). I’ve previously been out to Perth and have also taken a month long trip from Sydney to Cairns with numerous stops along the way.

Watching the programmes and our own experience have helped us make our minds up and decide that we want to make the move.

Having said that, I’d recommend a spell of renting until you are absolutely sure of what you want to do.

hello, i was hoping to let our house and go and try oz but today i found out that i have to sell because the rental would not be enough to cover the cost of the remortgage. and the uk market is awful so thats one more problem for me to think about, all at the same time. anyway, good luck to you.
