i am a newbie too

Hi everyone, been reading all the threads and found it all very interesting. My name is Rose, I am 51 and my OH is called Pete. We have 3 grown up children, one girl in oz and a girl and a boy still in UK. Just made the decision to move to Sydney from Bolton (manchester area). It all seems a bit daunting right now. Don't know how i will feel leaving 2 of my children behind but it is very emotional right now. I hope it gets better. We are at the start at the process so it probably hasn't really hit me yet. I will probably be asking lots of questions over the coming months, some of which may seem silly so please bear with me as i get to grips with all this.

Hi Julie, thanks for the warm welcome. Feel a bit lost at the moment but already feel like i have achieved something just by finding this wonderful site. Can't believe how friendly everyone is and i can see how people become good friends when they meet up in oz. OH and myself don't know anyone other than daughter in oz so will have to make new circle of friends which is very scary. Long way to go till then. I need to chill out more.

Welcome to PiO! I'm in Sydney, been here 18 months and also left behind my youngest daughter (23) as she didn't want to come so I understand how you feel.....it's very difficult and you do feel very torn indeed.

Just wanted to say a big WELCOME to you both.

The whole visa process is a very emotional experience, there will be lot's of up and downs all the way through, but I am sure it will all be worth it in the long run.
