New to Site and extremely nervous!

Hi, I'm Debs better half of Jon and Debs! Am currently thinking of moving to OZ. Jon is an Officer in the UK Fire Service and I work at a local High School. Have four children 12, 10, 7 and 4. Has anyone out there any advice regarding making this massive move and possibility of Jon picking up a job in the same field out there?

As regards with OH job try contacting the state you want to move to and see if you can transfer over there.

Welcome to PIO.

They are always advertising for volunteer Firefighters however I am sure they cant just depend on volunteers. They must have paid Firefighters just like they do in the UK.

Try contacting the local fire department for more info. Sorry I cant be of more help.

Hello everyone!
Just joined PIO two minutes ago!
We are seriously considering making the move down under. Going to the Opportunities Australia Expo at Olympia in April and hoping to go out to Aus for a holiday later in the year. House goes on the market next week so that we will at least be mortgage free in the next few months. This site looks great for help and info. Can't believe how many people seem to be thinking about leaving. Will be on later, once OH gets home with loads of questions!
