Moving to oz?

I am a 38 year old toolmaker looking to move to oz with my wife and 2 year old son and 6 year old daughter within 2 years.Whilst i really want to make the move my families security is my main concern so i would really appreciate some answers and thoughts to the following questions.

Should i use a migration agent or is it possible/easy to do the application myself?How much should i set aside for for the move itself,ie visa fees,flights,removals etc?

Where is it best to settle my family with respects to finding work,property to rent,schools?

How is it best to find property before i get there and what is the procedure concerning renting/buying property?

We used an agent and it made it alot easier. They will also tell you where you job is in demand.

Hiya using an agent is pretty much personal choice ,many have gone it alone and saved a few quid but lots of us employed an agent to make it a little less stressful,lol,,we used Visa Bureau who were great ,Go Matilda are another company who are competant in what they do and both companys get good feedback on here.
Areas again are pretty much down to you,what are you looking for?Most guys opt for a relocation firm or holiday let for their first few weeks until they find a rental,it is possible to rent from the Uk but its very risky to take a house on without it being inspected first,especially if you dont know the area personally,,hope this has helped a ;little bit
